Manual Mobile Shelving

Manual mobile shelving with folding handwheels in a working archive

No.02 Manual · Handwheel Drive

Open the aisle
by hand.

Manual mobile shelving stacks every row on wheels and lets them share one aisle. A handwheel or crank turns a chain drive — twelve newtons of effort, self-locking, no electrical supply. The same welded steel platform as our intelligent range, bought without the motor.

≤12 NOperating force
480 kgPer double-sided bay
0 WPower required, ever
5 yrWarranty, 10 on frames

Where the aisle goes § 01

Static rows waste one aisle per row.

Same floor · two strategies FIXED AN AISLE AT EVERY ROW 5 rows · 6 aisles ≈ 40% of the floor is aisle MOBILE ONE SHARED AISLE 700 mm aisle — opened where you stand 6 rows · 1 aisle ≈ half the floor freed for storage

Fixed shelving gives every row its own aisle — most of them empty, most of the time. Mobile bays roll on a shared rail and open a single aisle only where you stand, so the same floor holds roughly twice the storage.

  • 700 mm aisle opened on demand between two compacted runs
  • 100 mm clearance needed at each end of the rail — typical, confirmed per project
  • One aisle shared across the whole run instead of one per row
  • ≈2× storage density versus fixed shelving on the same footprint

The case for hand power § 04

What can manual shelving do for you?

  • No motor to buy, power or maintain
  • No wiring, no site power, no electrician
  • Lower unit price than the intelligent range
  • Same welded platform — same 480 kg bay load
  • Near-silent: no motor whir, no fans, no beeps
  • Nothing to reboot, update or recharge — ever
