Spider Wheel Smart Mobile Shelving

Spider-Wheel Smart mobile shelving installed in an archive aisle

No.01 Spider-Wheel Smart

One wheel.Every aisle.Fully tracked.

A single spider-wheel opens the aisle, a 0.5 kW drive moves the bay, and a 15.6-inch terminal tells you exactly where every tray lives. The same welded steel platform we build for the whole range — instrumented.

The drive § 01

A motor you
can over-ride by hand.

0.5 kW motor mounted on the drive chassis of a smart shelving bay Drive unit Matched chain pair linking the dual drive shafts

Each bay carries its own 0.5 kW motor on 220 V / 50 Hz (110 V / 60 Hz for export), slowed by a worm-gear reducer onto dual drive shafts and a matched chain pair. Two shafts, one chain tension — the bay tracks straight instead of crabbing.

Travel is soft-started and soft-stopped at 3–6 m/min, and aisles settle to within ±5 mm of where the terminal told them to be. When the power is out, a mechanical clutch drops out and the spider-wheel becomes a hand crank — no bay left stranded.

One touch on the terminal opens a single aisle or the whole run. Infrared aisle scanners, anti-pinch edges and an emergency stop ride along on every bay.

Guidance § 02

It tells you
which tray, which bay.

15.6-inch terminal

A wall or post-mounted LCD runs the desktop software and the mobile app side by side. Open, close, locate, lock — one screen, no training.

LED bay & shelf guidance

Light strips on the bay and the shelf level walk the operator to the exact tray. In a 60-bay run, that is the difference between a ten-minute search and a thirty-second pick.

RFID or barcode inventory

Every location is addressable. Scan on put-away and the system knows what is where; reconcile the whole archive without a physical count.

Optional climate log

Add temperature and humidity logging for sensitive records — the data rides out on the same terminal feed, no second box on the wall.

System R&D § 03

The intelligence is
engineered in-house.

Control boards, drive firmware and touch terminals are designed, populated and age-tested on our own line — the same system that ships inside every Spider-Wheel column.
