No.07 · Voucher smart shelving
Accounting vouchersmart shelving.
Statutory vouchers live ten, sometimes thirty years. On static shelving the back rows get boxed in and buried. Shallow-layer smart shelving reads every bundle on its edge — one row per layer, nothing behind anything.
Voucher calculator § 01
How many bays
before you buy.
Enter your voucher volume. The calculator returns shallow layers per side, vouchers per bay, bays required and the rail run — with the working shown line by line.

Assumptions: double-sided bay, 900 mm wide; bundles stand on edge in a single front row on the 560 mm depth (nothing buried); across the width, floor((900 – 40 mm clearance) / bundle thickness) bundles. ≈300 vouchers fill 30 mm, ≈500 fill 50 mm (80 gsm). One moving block plus statics — rail run marked ≈. Figures are planning estimates, not a quoted layout.
Built for vouchers § 02
Six reasons archives specify this bay.
Adjustable layers
Layer by layer § 03
Twelve shallow layers.
All of them adjustable.
Each side of the bay carries 12 shallow layers at 2300 mm — 15 at 2500 mm — and every layer re-seats along a 30 mm pitch, by hand, without tools. Clear height stays between 167 and 191 mm, so a 240 × 140 mm or 260 × 150 mm voucher bundle always stands on its edge with the code facing out. When next year’s bundles come in thicker, the shelf follows the paper — not the other way round.
- 12–15layers per side
- 30 mmadjustable pitch
- 167–191mm clear height
- 80 kgper layer, tested
Paper, protected § 04
